Flower Flower is a young Miami band with a killer blend of sounds: Dischord-inspired tangential limbs with a Saddle Creek-y folk backbone. Stream standout track ‘Old House (Winter)’ on MySpace, where you can contact the band to buy their latest EP, Go, Mordecai!, or purchase the disc April 2nd when they perform @ Sweat Records w/ Ice Cream.

What better way to start off the week than with some fresh Miami hip hop? Check out ‘All I Had To Do’ from Space Voodoo Crystal over at their MySpace page. RZA-inspired production set over a pitch-shifted, inter-dimensional soundscape informs us of what it might be like to listen to the Souls Of Mischief while watching Mr. Wizard with the sound off… awesome.

Sweat Records is Miami’s musical hub, connecting the city’s sprawling cultural output. If any loose threads remained in the musical sweater that is Miami, Sweat co-owners Lolo and Jsin have tied them with the unveiling of a event engine “for South Floridians to use or peruse for concert news.” On this platform artists and promoters post events, and fans can quickly find what to see and where to go. Awesome.

The Jameses, hailing from West Palm Beach, “challenge any band to a 3 on 3 half-court basketball game.” Something tells us they will be playing a lot of ball in the next few months, and winning steadily, based on the 3 incredible tracks posted on their MySpace page.

WALLS, the side project of Alessio Natalizia and Sam Willis of Banjo Or Freakout and Allez Allez has had ‘Burnt Sienna’ up on MySpace since October of last year; we are looking forward to a physical release from the London duo. The track, with a lurching bassline and an abrupt shift in scenery at the 2:18 mark, is a perfect after-the-fire soundtrack.

Head over to MySpace to hear the ambient soundscapes of Genghis Kian. The Miami  musician’s compositions are both Disney daylight and after-midnight at the same time, creating the sonic textures of standout tracks like ‘d4r4i4n4k v4i4n4e4g4a4r’ and ‘Meeses’.
